An Irish George III mahogany secretaire-tallboy, circa 1750. 170 H x 50 D x 92 W cm.
"Like the Townley Hall tallboy, this form of secretaire-tallboy is quite common in Ireland...The fitted secretaire section is reversible, and the drawer front falls down like contemporary French 'secretaire à abattants'. This is unlike English examples which usually pull out a certain distance, like a drawer, and the front then folds down."
